When Smart Communications SW Ltd approached us with a request to design and build a bespoke, moveable bar for Jockey Club Catering at Cheltenham Racecourse, we knew this would be no ordinary project.
The brief was clear: create a large, high-end wine and champagne bar that would not only impress visually but also meet the logistical demands of a live event space. The bar was to be positioned inside a tunnelled entranceway — a key access route that had to remain functional. That meant the entire unit needed to be mobile, robust, and easy to relocate when required.
To add to the challenge, the project timeline was tight. From concept to completion, we had just three weeks to design, construct, finish, and deliver the bar — all while maintaining the exceptional standards expected by one of the UK’s most iconic sporting venues.
Working closely with Smart Communications, we took their initial vision and added our own practical insight to ensure the finished product was both functional and visually striking. From sourcing high-quality materials to engineering a durable frame and integrated mobility, every detail was considered.
The result? A fully bespoke, moveable bar that fits perfectly in its setting, meets all usage requirements, and stands out for all the right reasons.
